Bourbon Shrimp Flambé Recipe

Bourbon-flamed shrimp are served with a rich tomato cream sauce for a simple yet elegant dish.

Instructions

  1. Melt 2 oz butter in a pan over medium heat, then add 1 lb peeled and deveined shrimp and sauté for 1 minute.

  2. Remove pan from heat; carefully add 1/4 cup bourbon and ignite with a match. Return to heat and shake until flames subside.

  3. Remove shrimp with a slotted spoon and keep warm.

  4. Add 1/4 cup heavy cream and 1 diced tomato to the pan. Boil and reduce until thickened, then stir in 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice.

  5. Season with salt and pepper.

  6. Return shrimp to the pan and reheat until warmed through.

  7. Garnish with 1/4 cup minced chives and toasted pecans, if desired. Serve with rice.
