Boozy Brownies

Instructions

  1. Prepare and bake brownies in a 9x9-inch pan (or 9x13-inch for thinner) according to package directions.

  2. After baking, cool for 10 minutes, then brush evenly with bourbon and refrigerate on a cooling rack.

  3. Cream butter, rum, and powdered sugar until smooth.

  4. Remove brownies from the refrigerator, spread with rum icing, and chill again for 30 minutes.

  5. Simmer water in a medium pot. Melt chocolate chips and shortening in a small saucepan over the simmering water, stirring until smooth.

  6. Remove brownies, drizzle with melted chocolate, and chill until serving.

  7. Cut into squares.
