Bonfire Night Treacle Toffee

Instructions

  1. Generously butter a 30cm x 10cm or 18cm square tin.

  2. In a 4-pint saucepan, dissolve sugar and water over low heat. Add remaining ingredients, then increase heat and boil to 270 F/140 C (soft crack stage) as indicated by a thermometer or cold water test.

  3. Pour hot toffee into the prepared tin and let cool completely.

  4. Once cold, remove the toffee from the tin and break into pieces.

  5. Store in an airtight tin.
