Blackened Salmon

An easy blackened salmon recipe features a custom spice blend made in a food processor.

Instructions

  1. Preheat a large grill pan over medium-high heat with oil.

  2. Place salmon fillets skin-side down in a baking dish, squeeze lime juice over them, and let sit for 5 minutes.

  3. Blend onion powder, thyme, basil, oregano, chile, pepper, salt, and sugar in a food processor until homogeneous, then spread the spice mix onto a plate.

  4. Press the flesh side of each salmon fillet into the spice mix, then press the sides to coat.

  5. Cook fillets skin-side down in the hot grill pan for 4 minutes, then flip and cook for 5 more minutes until done.
