Blackened Salmon
An easy blackened salmon recipe features a custom spice blend made in a food processor.

Instructions

Preheat a large grill pan over medium-high heat with oil.

Place salmon fillets skin-side down in a baking dish, squeeze lime juice over them, and let sit for 5 minutes.

Blend onion powder, thyme, basil, oregano, chile, pepper, salt, and sugar in a food processor until homogeneous, then spread the spice mix onto a plate.

Press the flesh side of each salmon fillet into the spice mix, then press the sides to coat.

Cook fillets skin-side down in the hot grill pan for 4 minutes, then flip and cook for 5 more minutes until done.
