Bittersweet Chocolate Brownies

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 F; grease and flour a 9-inch-square baking pan, optionally lining it with greased parchment.

  2. Melt chocolate and butter over simmering water until smooth, then cool.

  3. Beat eggs, salt, sugar, and vanilla with an electric mixer until light and thickened.

  4. Stir in the cooled chocolate mixture, then fold in flour and walnuts.

  5. Spread batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with moist crumbs.

  6. Cool brownies completely on a rack before cutting.
