Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.

  2. Add ground beef and onion; cook for 5 minutes, breaking up the beef, until no longer pink and onion softens. Drain excess fat if needed.

  3. Stir in garlic, salt, pepper, chili powder, cumin, and oregano; cook for 1 minute more.

  4. Add tomato paste and water or stock; stir well.

  5. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 4 minutes until thickened. Adjust seasonings to taste.
