Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 F and grease an 8x8 or 9x9 pan.

  2. Melt butter with sugar, then cool slightly.

  3. Sift flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt into a large mixing bowl.

  4. Add the cooled butter-sugar mixture, eggs, vanilla, and espresso powder to the dry ingredients and mix well.

  5. Fold in chocolate chips.

  6. Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for 20 to 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center is clean.
