Beer-Basted Turkey Recipe
A flavorful beer-basted turkey recipe enhanced with a pale ale and butter baste, ideal for holidays or special meals.

Instructions

Preheat oven to 325 F, adjusting racks for turkey placement.

Pat turkey dry inside and out, then season with salt and pepper.

Stuff turkey if desired; otherwise, insert aromatics like citrus, celery, garlic, onion, bay leaves, or use herb compound butter.

Place turkey in a roasting pan.

Melt butter, stir in one bottle of ale, and pour over the turkey.

Roast unstuffed turkey for 15 minutes per pound, or stuffed turkey for 20 minutes per pound.

Baste every 20 minutes with beer-butter and pan juices; halfway through, pour remaining ale over turkey and continue basting.

Cover breast and drumsticks with foil if browning excessively.

Turkey is done when thigh temperature reaches 180 F, and stuffing (if used) reaches 160 F.
