Beef and Italian Sausage Meatloaf

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 F and lightly oil a 9x5x3-inch loaf pan.

  2. Chop the tomatoes or pulse them with their juice in a food processor.

  3. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, sausage, egg, breadcrumbs, half of the chopped tomatoes, onion, garlic, bell pepper, basil, oregano, salt, pepper, and cheese; mix well.

  4. Pack the meat mixture into the prepared loaf pan.

  5. Bake for 1 hour.

  6. Top with the remaining tomatoes and bake for an additional 15 to 20 minutes.

  7. Let the meatloaf rest for a few minutes before transferring to a platter and slicing.
