Beef and Broccoli Stir-Fry

Instructions

  1. Slice sirloin steak into thin strips against the grain.

  2. Coat beef strips with 1 tablespoon cornstarch and salt in a bag; shake well.

  3. Heat sesame oil in a skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Stir-fry beef for 4 minutes until no longer pink; remove and set aside.

  4. Cook garlic in the same skillet for 1 minute until aromatic. Add water and broccoli; cook for 4 to 5 minutes until bright green and tender.

  5. While broccoli cooks, whisk 1 tablespoon cornstarch with vegetable broth and soy sauce. Add this mixture and the cooked beef back to the skillet.

  6. Cook for 1 to 2 minutes until sauce thickens, then remove from heat.

  7. Serve in a bowl, garnished with optional toasted sesame seeds.
