BBQ Country Style Ribs in the Oven

Tender, slow-roasted country-style pork ribs are prepared in the oven with a rich barbecue sauce, Cajun seasoning, and savory onions.

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325 F and line a shallow baking pan with oiled foil.

  2. Combine 1 tablespoon kosher salt, 1 1/2 teaspoons paprika, 1 teaspoon dried oregano, 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper, 1 teaspoon black pepper, 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme, 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder, and 1/2 teaspoon onion powder to create the Cajun seasoning blend.

  3. Pat dry 2 1/2 pounds boneless country-style pork ribs, then rub 1 tablespoon of the Cajun seasoning blend onto all sides.

  4. Arrange the seasoned ribs in the prepared pan, top with 1 sliced medium onion, and cover securely with another piece of foil.

  5. Bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes, or until the ribs are very tender.

  6. Remove the top foil, then brush the ribs with 1/2 cup barbecue sauce.

  7. Bake uncovered for an additional 15 minutes, or broil for 2 to 3 minutes to crisp the exterior.
