Bavarian Hunter's Beef Stew

Instructions

  1. Season cubed beef with salt and pepper.

  2. Heat oil in a heavy pot over medium-high heat; brown the seasoned beef, stirring.

  3. Add onion and mushrooms; cook until onion is translucent.

  4. Pour in dry red wine; reduce heat to low and simmer for 30 minutes.

  5. Add beef stock; simmer for another 30 minutes.

  6. Stir in potatoes and carrots; continue simmering for 30 minutes, or until vegetables are tender.

  7. Serve the stew hot.
