Basmati Rice With Carrots
A simple, gluten-free basmati rice dish featuring sautéed carrots and onions, perfect for a kid-friendly meal.

Instructions

Start boiling water in a separate saucepan.

Heat oil in a large pot over medium-high heat; sauté chopped onion for 3-4 minutes until soft.

Add grated carrots and cook for an additional 5 minutes until soft, then stir in sugar.

Add the rice, salt, and boiling water to the pot, then cover and simmer on low heat for 20-25 minutes until the water is absorbed.

Remove the pot from heat, stir the rice, cover, and allow to steam for 5 minutes until tender.

Stir again and uncover the pot to prevent the rice from becoming sticky.
