Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, muddle sugar, basil, and lemon zest for one minute, then add 2 cups of water. Bring to a boil, stirring, then remove from heat and cool to room temperature.

  2. Strain the cooled mixture into a pitcher. Add 4 cups of cold water and lemon juice, then stir.

  3. Serve over ice, garnished with fresh basil and lemon slices.
