Basic Vanilla Pudding

Scald 2 2/3 cups of milk.

In a small bowl, combine cornstarch, sugar, and salt, then stir in the remaining 1/3 cup milk.

Pour the cornstarch mixture into the scalded milk and cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until thick and smooth.

Continue cooking for 5 more minutes to ensure the cornstarch is fully cooked.
