Basic Low Country Shrimp Boil

A classic low country boil combines shrimp, potatoes, corn, onions, and sausage for a flavorful, hearty meal.

Instructions

  1. In a large stock pot, bring enough water to a boil to just cover your ingredients.

  2. Add red-skinned potatoes and cook for about 20 minutes.

  3. Stir in corn on the cob, onions (if using), and sausages; add more water if needed to just cover all ingredients.

  4. Add the shrimp to the pot, cover, and steam for about 5 minutes until the shrimp are opaque and pink.

  5. Transfer shrimp to a serving bowl and arrange the vegetables and sausage on serving platters.
