Basic Homemade Pizza Dough

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425 F.

  2. Combine warm water and yeast; let stand 5 minutes.

  3. Mix flour, sugar, and salt; then incorporate yeast mixture and oil.

  4. Knead dough until smooth, adding flour if sticky.

  5. Transfer to an oiled bowl, turning to coat dough.

  6. Cover and let dough rise for 60 minutes until doubled.

  7. Punch down dough, roll out to fit a 12-14 inch pan, cover, and rest for 20 minutes.

  8. Top pizza and bake for 20 minutes until crust is browned.
