Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 F and butter an 8x8-inch baking dish.

  2. Separate eggs, reserving whites for meringue; whisk yolks in a saucepan.

  3. Combine sugar and cornstarch, then add to yolks with milk, whisking to blend.

  4. Cook pudding over low heat, stirring constantly, until thickened and creamy; stir in vanilla.

  5. Layer graham cracker crumbs and sliced bananas in the baking dish, then cover with the vanilla pudding.

  6. Beat egg whites until soft peaks form, then add powdered sugar and continue beating until stiff peaks form for the meringue.

  7. Spread meringue over the pudding and bake for approximately 10 minutes, or until golden brown.
