Preheat oven to 350 F.

Reserve 12 vanilla wafers for garnish; finely crush the remaining cookies and combine with melted butter and sugar.

Press the mixture into the bottom and halfway up the sides of a 10-inch springform pan, lining the outside with foil to prevent leaks.

Beat cream cheese, sugar, sour cream, eggs, mashed bananas, and lemon juice until smooth.

Pour the filling into the prepared crust and bake for 1 hour until lightly browned.

Cool completely at room temperature, then wrap and chill for at least 12 hours.

To prepare the topping, whisk milk, pudding mix, and confectioners' sugar for 2 minutes, then gently fold in whipped topping.

Spread the topping over the chilled cheesecake.
