  1. Preheat the oven to 350 F and prepare a 9x5x3-inch loaf pan by greasing and flouring it.

  2. Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon in a bowl.

  3. In a separate bowl, beat butter and sugars until light and fluffy, then mix in eggs, vanilla, and mashed bananas until well blended.

  4. Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined, avoiding overmixing.

  5. Fold in the chopped dates.

  6. Transfer the batter to the prepared loaf pan and spread it evenly.

  7. Bake for 60 to 70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
