Baked Pork Chops With Mushroom Sauce Recipe

Preheat oven to 350 F.

Combine 1/4 cup flour, paprika, 1 teaspoon salt, and 1/4 teaspoon pepper in a bowl; dredge pork chops in the mixture.

Melt 2 tablespoons butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook mushrooms until tender and golden brown; remove and set aside.

Add 1 tablespoon olive oil to the skillet and brown pork chops for 3-4 minutes per side. Transfer chops to a baking dish, top with reserved mushrooms, and set aside.

Melt remaining 4 tablespoons butter in the skillet, then cook onion and celery until the onion is translucent.

Stir in remaining 1/4 cup flour; cook the roux for 2 minutes, stirring constantly.

Gradually whisk in chicken broth and milk; cook, stirring, until thickened.

Stir in the reserved mushrooms, season with salt and pepper to taste, then stir in lemon juice.

Pour sauce over chops in the baking dish.

Cover tightly with foil and bake for 45-60 minutes, or until chops are tender.
