Baked Macaroni and Cheese With Ham

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350 F.

Lightly grease a 2-quart baking dish.

Cook macaroni in boiling salted water, drain, and rinse.

In a saucepan, whisk milk and flour over medium heat, then stir in salt, onion powder, and pepper until thickened.

Mix in ham, green onions (if using), and 2 cups of cheddar cheese until melted, then remove from heat.

Stir the cooked macaroni into the sauce until well blended.

Combine breadcrumbs with 2 tablespoons melted butter.

Spoon the macaroni mixture into the prepared dish.

Top with the remaining 1 cup of cheese and then the buttered breadcrumbs.
