Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 F and butter a shallow 2-quart casserole.

  2. Cook macaroni 2 to 3 minutes less than package directions, then drain.

  3. Steam broccoli until tender, then drain and chop into bite-sized pieces.

  4. Melt butter in a medium saucepan over low heat.

  5. Stir in flour, green onion, salt, dry mustard, and pepper until blended.

  6. Gradually stir in milk until blended, bring to a boil, then cook and stir for 2 minutes until thickened and bubbly.

  7. Stir in the cooked macaroni, broccoli, ham, and cheese, then transfer the mixture to the prepared casserole.

  8. Combine breadcrumbs with melted butter and sprinkle over the casserole.

  9. Bake for 30 minutes, or until golden brown.
