Baked Halibut With Mushroom Cream Sauce Recipe

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 F. Butter a baking dish, then place halibut fillets inside. Brush fillets with melted butter and season with salt and pepper.

  2. Bake for 20-25 minutes, basting occasionally, until the fish flakes with a fork.

  3. Remove halibut from the oven and let stand for 5 minutes.

  4. Meanwhile, heat butter in a saucepan over medium-low heat. Add mushrooms and cook, stirring, until golden and tender.

  5. Stir in green onions for 1 minute, then add flour and cook for another minute, stirring until well blended.

  6. Gradually stir in chicken broth and milk until smooth. Add sherry and seasonings.

  7. Continue cooking, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens and bubbles.

  8. Serve the baked halibut with the prepared mushroom sauce.
