Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 F.

  2. Place pork chops in a single layer in a baking dish, then season generously with salt and pepper.

  3. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 30 minutes.

  4. While the chops bake, peel, core, and coarsely chop the apples.

  5. Remove the dish from the oven, uncover, and distribute the chopped apples over each chop.

  6. Dot with butter and sprinkle with brown sugar.

  7. Return to the oven, uncovered, and bake for about 10 minutes, or until the pork reaches 145 F.

  8. Let the pork chops rest for at least 5 minutes before serving.
