Baked Alaska Dessert
A classic ice cream dessert, baked Alaska features cake and ice cream enveloped in fluffy meringue and baked until golden.

Preheat the oven to 450 F.

Line an 8x4-inch loaf pan with plastic wrap, leaving an overhang. Spread softened ice cream into the pan and freeze until solid, at least 6 hours (freeze layers individually if applicable).

Cut cake to a 1-inch thick, 8 1/2 x 4 1/2-inch rectangle and place on an oven-safe platter.

Warm jam, brush it over the cake, then let it cool.

Remove the solid ice cream from the pan, discard plastic, and place it on the jam-coated cake. Freeze for 30 minutes until firm.

Beat egg whites until foamy, then gradually add sugar and beat until stiff peaks form.

Spread a 1/2-inch thick layer of meringue over the ice cream and cake, ensuring it's completely sealed.

Bake for 5 to 7 minutes until the meringue is light brown. Serve.
