Instructions

  1. Preheat broiler if using, or heat a large frying pan over medium-high heat.

  2. Rinse and dry figs, trimming any excess stems.

  3. Cut each bacon strip in half lengthwise; cut crosswise for shorter strips if desired.

  4. Wrap each fig with a bacon strip, overlapping minimally to secure.

  5. Cook figs in the hot pan or on a baking sheet under the broiler, turning until bacon is crisp on all sides.

  6. Transfer cooked figs to paper towels to blot excess fat before serving hot.
