Instructions

  1. Combine mayonnaise, sour cream, ranch dressing mix, and pepper in a medium bowl; cover and refrigerate.

  2. Cook diced bacon in a large skillet over medium-low heat until browned and crisp; drain on paper towels.

  3. Start boiling a large pot of salted water; add rotini and cook according to package directions, then drain and cool completely.

  4. In a large bowl, combine the cooled pasta, cooked bacon, halved tomatoes, diced celery, olives, and cheese if using; toss gently.

  5. Fold in the refrigerated dressing mixture until the pasta and vegetables are well coated.

  6. Cover the pasta salad and refrigerate until serving.
