Bacon and Cheddar Green Bean Casserole

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 3500F.

  2. Fry bacon in a large skillet until crisp, then drain, crumble, and set aside.

  3. Remove all but 2 tablespoons of bacon drippings from the pan; cook onions until softened, then add garlic for 1 minute.

  4. Combine cream of mushroom soup, drained green beans, half of the cheddar cheese, milk, and all but 2 tablespoons of the crumbled bacon in the pot; season with salt and pepper.

  5. Transfer the green bean mixture to a lightly greased 2 1/2- to 3-quart casserole.

  6. Top the casserole with the remaining cheese, crumbled bacon, and fried onions.

  7. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, until bubbling and the topping is golden brown.
