Ashkenazi Apple and Walnut Charoset

An easy Ashkenazi charoset, a Passover Seder fixture, combines apples, walnuts, sugar, wine, and cinnamon.

Instructions

  1. Process 5 peeled, cored, and cut Fuji apples using a food processor's S-blade or shredding disc until chopped or grated.

  2. Combine the processed apples with 1 1/4 cups chopped nuts, 5 tablespoons sugar, 1 cup dry red wine, and 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon in a large bowl.

  3. Stir thoroughly to combine all ingredients.

  4. Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve.
