Arrabbiata Sauce Recipe

Instructions

Melt butter in a large sauté pan over medium heat.

Add red pepper flakes and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.

Stir in shallot and sauté for 2 minutes until translucent.

Add garlic and tomato paste, stirring for 1 minute until fragrant and combined.

Stir in tomatoes, then raise heat to high and bring to a boil.

Reduce heat to low and simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally and breaking up tomatoes, until thickened.

Stir in basil, then season with salt and additional pepper flakes as desired.
