Apple Pie Moonshine Recipe

Bring apple cider to a slow boil in a medium saucepan, then stir in brown sugar until dissolved.

Add 2 cinnamon sticks and all other spices, stir, cover, reduce heat, and simmer for 20 minutes.

Remove from heat and let steep, covered, until completely cool, approximately 1 hour.

Strain the spices from the cooled apple cider using a fine-mesh strainer over a bowl.

In a 1-quart jar, combine 2 1/2 cups of moonshine, 1 cup of spiced apple cider, and vanilla extract.

Mix well and adjust the moonshine and cider proportions to taste, making it slightly strong as flavors will mellow.

Add 1 cinnamon stick to the jar, seal, and shake vigorously.

Store in a cool, dark place for one week, shaking daily, before serving.

Serve as is, over ice, or warmed, optionally garnishing with a cinnamon stick or use in cocktails.
