Apple Phyllo Pie

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 F with a rack in the center.

  2. Spray a 9-inch pie plate with nonstick spray.

  3. Peel, core, and thinly slice the apples.

  4. In a large bowl, combine apples, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon, and flour.

  5. Mix honey with warm water in a small pitcher or bowl.

  6. Quickly brush one phyllo sheet with honey mixture and place it into the pie plate, allowing sides to overhang.

  7. Brush a second phyllo sheet and lay it over the first.

  8. Brush and place the third sheet, overhanging opposite sides to form a cross; repeat for the fourth sheet.

  9. Brush and place the fifth and sixth sheets at opposing angles.

  10. Spoon the apple mixture into the plate, then gather the overhanging phyllo sides to form a galette, leaving the center exposed.

  11. Bake for 30-35 minutes.
