Apple Fritter Bread
An apple fritter-inspired quick bread, this versatile treat is perfect for breakfast, snack, or dessert.

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350F. Line a 9x5-inch loaf tin.

Peel, core, and chop apples. Combine granulated sugar and cinnamon.

Cream butter and brown sugar until light and pale.

Gradually beat in eggs. Sift flour and baking powder into the bowl, then mix slowly. Add vanilla extract and 1/2 cup milk; mix until batter is loose.

Layer half the batter, half the chopped apples, and half the sugar-cinnamon mixture in the prepared tin. Repeat with remaining ingredients.

Bake for 45 minutes, or until a skewer inserted into the center comes out clean. If not, bake for another 10 minutes. Cool in the tin for 15 minutes, then remove and cool completely on a rack.

Prepare glaze by combining powdered sugar and 3 tablespoons milk.

Drizzle cooled cake with glaze and serve in thick slices.
