Apple Compote Recipe

Instructions

  1. Peel, core, and chop apples into 1/2-inch chunks, then toss with cinnamon, ginger, and nutmeg.

  2. In a saucepan, melt butter, brown sugar, and vanilla extract over medium heat, then increase heat slightly and cook for 5 minutes until lightly caramelized.

  3. Stir in the spiced apples; cook over medium heat for 10 minutes or until apples soften without breaking, gently reducing liquid if needed to thicken.
