Instructions

  1. Soften the butter in a large bowl, using hands, a potato masher, or a stand mixer.

  2. Mix the mashed anchovies into the softened butter until fully incorporated.

  3. Scoop the mixture onto a 1-foot square of plastic wrap and roll it into a cylinder.

  4. Tie off the ends of the plastic wrap to secure the cylinder.

  5. Chill until ready to use, or freeze in smaller portions for later.
