American Shepherd's Pie With Hash Browns

Preheat the oven to 375 F.

In a large skillet, sauté ground beef, mushrooms, onion, garlic, 1 teaspoon salt, and pepper until juices evaporate.

Stir in Worcestershire and flour; cook 1 minute.

Add beef broth and heavy cream; simmer until the gravy thickens.

Pour the mixture into a glass baking dish. Let cool slightly, then sprinkle with green peas.

In a bowl, combine hash brown potatoes, chives, 1 cup cheddar cheese, the remaining 1 teaspoon salt, and mayonnaise.

Spread the hash brown mixture over the beef, then top with the remaining cheddar cheese and a light sprinkle of paprika.
