Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 F.

  2. In a large skillet, sauté ground beef, mushrooms, onion, garlic, 1 teaspoon salt, and pepper until juices evaporate.

  3. Stir in Worcestershire and flour; cook 1 minute.

  4. Add beef broth and heavy cream; simmer until the gravy thickens.

  5. Pour the mixture into a glass baking dish. Let cool slightly, then sprinkle with green peas.

  6. In a bowl, combine hash brown potatoes, chives, 1 cup cheddar cheese, the remaining 1 teaspoon salt, and mayonnaise.

  7. Spread the hash brown mixture over the beef, then top with the remaining cheddar cheese and a light sprinkle of paprika.

  8. Bake for 45 minutes, until cheese is melted and lightly browned.

  9. Let rest for 15 minutes before serving.
