American Flag Cake

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to the temperature indicated on the box mix.

  2. Prepare cake batter according to package directions and pour into a greased 9x13-inch pan.

  3. Bake as directed, then let the cake cool for 15 minutes before inverting it onto a serving platter to cool completely.

  4. Place the cooled cake in the freezer while preparing the frosting.

  5. Beat cream cheese, whipped topping, and confectioners' sugar until smooth with an electric mixer.

  6. Remove the cake from the freezer and spread the frosting over the top and sides.

  7. Decorate by outlining and filling a top-left square with blueberries to form the stars.

  8. Arrange raspberries in lines next to and below the blueberries to create the stripes.

  9. Refrigerate the cake until ready to serve.
