Whisk flour, baking powder, and salt in a small bowl.

In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar, then beat in eggs one at a time.

Mix in grated almond paste until fully incorporated.

Gradually add the flour mixture until combined.

Crush almonds and spread on a plate.

Form 1.5-teaspoon dough portions into cylinders, roll in crushed almonds, then shape into crescents.

Place shaped dough on a lightly greased baking pan and bake for 15 minutes.

Cool cookies on the baking sheet for 2 minutes, then transfer to racks to cool completely.

Prepare a parchment-lined surface.

Melt chocolate chips and shortening in a bowl, stirring until smooth.

Dip each end of the cooled cookies into the melted chocolate and place them on the parchment paper.
