Almond, Honey and Argan Oil Moroccan Dip Recipe

Amlou is a traditional Moroccan dip crafted from toasted almonds, argan oil, and honey, often enjoyed at breakfast or tea time.

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 F (190 C). Wash and drain almonds if gritty.

  2. Roast almonds on a baking pan for about 15 minutes, or until crunchy and darkened.

  3. Allow almonds to cool, then grind them in a meat grinder or food processor until a smooth, glistening paste forms.

  4. Gradually incorporate argan oil into the paste by hand or with a food processor on low speed, adjusting for desired consistency.

  5. Blend in warm honey, sugar, and salt, then taste and adjust sweetness.

  6. Serve Amlou with bread; store covered in a cool, dark place for up to two months, stirring before use.
