Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 365 F and grease a 4- to 5-inch cake pan with butter.

  2. In a measuring cup, whisk buttermilk, brown sugar, melted butter, honey, and egg until well combined.

  3. In a separate bowl, whisk cornmeal, flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

  4. Combine the wet and dry mixtures, stirring until just moistened with no dry pockets remaining.

  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan, place in the air fryer, and cook for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

  6. Note that the top will be browned; it can be trimmed if desired.

  7. Loosen edges with a knife, invert onto a plate, cool for 10 minutes, and serve warm.
