Instructions

  1. Melt chocolate chips or chopped chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl, stirring every 45 seconds.

  2. Stir corn syrup and rum into the melted chocolate until combined.

  3. Mix in wafer crumbs, 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar, and chopped nuts.

  4. Refrigerate the mixture for about 1 hour until firm enough to shape.

  5. Roll the mixture into 1-inch balls.

  6. Roll the balls in the remaining 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar, or alternatively in chopped nuts or cocoa powder.

  7. Store the balls in the refrigerator and allow them to reach room temperature before serving.
