Remove and chop mushroom stems.

Cook sausage in a skillet over medium heat until done, then transfer to a bowl, reserving 1-2 tablespoons of drippings.

Sauté chopped mushroom stems in reserved drippings for 5-10 minutes until tender.

Combine cooked stems, sausage, breadcrumbs, and cheese thoroughly in the bowl.
